Set apart by its grandly scaled estates with incredible privacy and elevated luxury, the town offers another key ingredient – acreage  Growth of hedge fund companies have, in very recent years, placed high demand on sophisticated residences tailored for larger families and entertaining. Several established farms from the early 1900s are now beautifully transformed into idyllic million-dollar homes set on exquisitely landscaped - large properties.  Truly, it’s become increasingly more difficult to find this level of privacy and so close to New York City elsewhere.

New construction is superbly moderated by town ordinance, but the result is magical grand estates in excess of 12,000 square feet are crafted on gated compounds that may include several guest or staff homes, indoor squash or racquetball courts, as well as water features, pools, ponds, equestrian barns, paddocks and horse stables.

Ultra-modern masterpieces are custom designed with glass walls focused on Nature, while quintessentially classic Colonials, Stone and Shingle styles blend with impressive vernaculars like French Provincial or English Manors. Common areas are equally designed to create park-like approaches with velvety lawns, stunning landscape, hardscapes and botanical gardens.

When it’s time to “go to town” people will head to the village center to window shop along rows of upscale boutiques, dine at a bistro and catch a movie. Holiday lights and singers who gather ‘round to sing Christmas carols add to the charming Currier and Ives atmosphere.

With a seemingly endless list of things to do and see in and around this beautiful area, its never hard to find a local spot for hiking, birdwatching, walking the dog and meditating by a pond.
